Due to some reason we have moved the date of the Breakin Wreck gig in New Plymouth forward one day to the Friday 12th February. That's the day you wanna take your intoxicated arse down to Basement Bar New Plymouth and check out performances by Tyson Tyler, Jay Roacher, Oracle, Cyphanetik, and DJ Substance.

Haiti Benefit Show This Sunday

Dig Deep this Sunday because Breakin Wreckwordz artists Tourettes and The Usual Suspects are joining about a hundred other really dope crews to raise some funds for the aftermath of Haiti's recent disaster. Its a super important cause and its only ten bucks so you really ought to go.

Your $10 door charge will go directly to UNICEF to help in the relief effort currently going on in Haiti. All the proceeds from the evening will be donated to UNICEF for clean drinking water, food, medical supplies and the rebuilding of schools. We will be personally tracking this money to Haiti and will update you all on exactly where your money went.

What is so little to us, could literally mean life or death for the children of Haiti.

Tourettes #2 In Amplifier Top 20

source: http://www.amplifier.co.nz/news/53437/amplifiers-top-twenty-albums-of-2009.html

"Hello, my name is Tourettes. I like rapping, poetry and playing the drums. I write about politics, love and diseases. I'm in a crew called Breakin Wreckwordz. We're pretty good. At the moment I'm waiting to release my new album Who Said You Can't Dance To Misery, in an effort to get the voices out of my head and into yours."

Who Said You Can't Dance To Misery was mixed by Karl Steven (Supergroove) and mastered by Angus McNaughton.

Amplifier says: Tourettes has a way with words. As he should, being a poet. But if you approached this album thinking you were going to get poetry of the Wordsworth "I Wandered Lonely As a Cloud" type then you're going to be in for a rude shock. Who Said You Can't Dance to Misery is a challenge. It has an edge that's so sharp you could shave with it. It gives voice to the inner-city streets of Auckland rather than trying to sound like it came from Compton. This is vital listening and more people need to hear it.

Video: Usual Suspects Get Cooking

The good folk at opshopmodels.com are currently in the filming of the first season of the cooking show “Food 4 Thought” hosted by The Usual Suspects. Of course before we went rushing into filming the first season, we had to see what these mugs would look like in front of a camera, and if they can actually cook. Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be releasing pilot episodes from our screen tests, that I think will show they definitely don’t look that great in front of a camera and can’t really cook either. Heres the first…

Schools Out Tour Wrap Up

So tour is done and I assume everyone feels as fuckin busted as i do, but it was well worth it, first all thanks to all involved, all who came to shows and purchased merch, we appreciate that shit, our TM and merch guys, our sound dude Liam, thanks so much.

So we started with the drive from Melb to Bris while the DN boys flew from perth, bout halfway through i realized I’d left my suitcase outside the pub i was picked up from, so depressed I wanted to cry, shit got sorted tho, 24 hr drive and we arrive just in time for load in at the first show, was a bit of an awkward one playing in a gym, i prefer dark dingy clubs but it went well.

Always love some downtime in brissy, we were put up by our friend Ali Manners and spent the next day getting haircuts, tattoos and strong.

NZ Herald Reckin Tourettes Rulez

Its been a busy year for the Breakin Wreck boys with 5 releases out before the year has ended, but the title of Breakin Wreckwordz Artist Of The Year would have to go to my good friend Dominic aka Tourettes.

His album 'Who Said You Can't Dance To Misery' has been picking up acclaim all year long. My vision for the label to be nz's most progressive hip hop label wouldn't be possible without the creative genius of this filthy, frank speaking, art-fag, and the people at the NZ Herald seem to think so too, coz not only was this there 12th best album of the year, but their first hip hop pick!

Fuckin oats.
